Chloee Davis, 32, who was already wanted by Virginia Beach Police, is facing new charges in Stafford after a failed attempt at subterfuge at the store on South Gateway Drive.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the Target late on Sunday night after staff recognized Davis from an incident in June and alerted the agency.

Davis was able to leave the store before deputies arrived, but employees were able to provide a description of her black BMW SUV, which was stopped on I-95, setting off a series of events that landed her temporarily behind bars.

Investigators say that during the stop, deputies recovered 13 Canon Cameras valued at $8,449 and 2 VR Systems valued at $999 from the BMW.

Davis was taken into custody and charged with attempted false pretenses, possession of stolen property, possession with intent to distribute stolen property and driving suspended.

She was also connected to the June 2 incident and warrants have been obtained for shoplifting and false pretenses.

A 32-year-old passenger in the BMW from Hampton was also found to be wanted in Newport News for failure to appear. She was also taken into custody and placed in jail on a $2,500 bond.
